Final Week of Farm Share – 2011

Oct 27, 2011 | Box Contents, Recipes

Hello all!

Here is the last week’s list. Sorry for the lateness!

This is the first week we have ever had Jerusalem Artichokes. Here is a little info on the “potato-like” veggie. Try using some paper towel to absorb excess moisture when you are storing them.  I’ll admit that this week is the first time I will attempt to cook with them, but I am very excited to try them. Here is one recipe you can make – it is a saute with garlic.

Another newcomer to your box is the odd-looking but flavourful root veggie, celery root. This is actually a different plant than regular celery and will need to be simmered, ideally in soup.  You can also try it in a salad preparation.

Here is the complete list of your final week’s box contents. THANK YOU to everyone for your support of the farm this year and we hope to be bringing you fresh, organic fruits and veggies again next year.

As always, if you have any feedback about the season, things you liked, things you’d like to see next year or just comments or questions – let us know!

Best,
Jennifer and the Zephyr Organics team
