This past week I couldn’t help but stare in awe wherever I went! The fall colours are just incredible on the quick little jaunts between farm properties. Certainly, it’s one of the perks of rural life to behold such beauty all the time. The rich colours of vegetables in the field add new layers to the spectacles. With the chill in the air, this season of farm share is coming to a close. This week and next are the last ones of the season.
We are concluding this season with skinny bodies and tired backs, but with lots of gratitude and fond memories. I can’t say enough how blessed I have been by the team this year. They come day after day with positive attitudes, even if work ran late the night before and our own household projects have gone by the wayside. They are there in heart as well as body. Just today I was asking where to find some boxes, and one of the farm staff literally ran with a smile to go get me some. He has been just brimming with positivity since he came to our farm from another one that used chemicals that were impacting his health and housed their employees in cramped quarters. That’s one of the things I love about growing organically. I know our employees will not be harmed from simply doing their jobs. When you choose organic, you are choosing worker safety too :).
I am very thankful for you, too as supporters of our farm. You care about how your food is grown and who is working in those fields. You put your trust in us to provide food that is safe and nutritious for your families, and we take that responsibility seriously.
So, Thank You!
